Hope of Life
Dorcus’ father was a hard-working man, providing for his family of ten by farming tomatoes, onions and maize for profit. Then in 2023, as he was working to support his family in the garden, he suddenly fell down, injuring his head. He was taken to the hospital, but passed away a few hours later.
His wife tried to take over the farming, but her health was rapidly declining. She sought treatment at the Kapchorwa Hospital, but there were no answers. Finally, a good Samartian took her to a hospital in Kenya where doctors discovered she had cancer.
Since then, even in the midst of cancer treatment, Dorcus’ mother continues with her husbands responsibilities, trying so hard to provide for her eight children.
Dorcus is the second to last born in her family, with older siblings who are also struggling to survive. One of her sisters disappeared for five years, and the family believed she had died, until she suddenly showed up again. The heartache and loss this family has faced makes them feel like there is no hope or future.
But the Hope Africa International staff believe they can help this family to find hope, healing and light through knowing the all surpassing love of God. Dorcus is on our waiting list, praying for sponsorship. Would you like to join Dorcus in her life-journey, giving hope to this family?
