Allowed to Dream

All too often children are the victims of adult decisions, suffering great anxiety and pain. Hope Africa seeks to help families heal by working with parents of our sponsored children, counseling them and guiding them.

Sweet Christine has experienced great instability in her life, watching her father abuse her mother. When she was just five years old, her parents separated, and he left to live on his parents’ land. Christine’s mother then decided to remarry, but tragically, the stepfather would not accept the girls, so they ended up living with their father.

Later, Christine’s mother finally told her parents about the years of abuse and poverty. They became so angry, they set his house on fire, where he narrowly escaped. He has since fled to Kenya and remarried, leaving the two girls to be raised by their single grandmother. She struggles daily to even provide food for the girls, without a source of income or anyone to help her.

Christine’s grandmother prays to God to provide for her, so she may have a quality education and a better future. Sponsorship would help bring hope to this little girl, who has dreams of becoming a nurse. Did you know that many of our sponsored kids say the most impactful thing was being allowed to dream for the future? This is something they couldn’t fathom before, when survival was the only thought they had.

Would you consider helping Christine through sponsorship, so she can dream?
