Joshua’s Hope

Abandoned by her alcoholic and abusive husband in 2009, Joshua Musau’s mother was left to provide for her children on her own. In these circumstances, it seemed impossible that Joshua, the eldest of eight children, would have an opportunity to pursue an education.

Then, these circumstances radically changed when Joshua joined Hope Africa Sponsorship Program. He thrived during his primary school years at Testimony School and gave his life wholly to Christ. Now in his fourth year of secondary boarding school, he is described as a spiritual leader in his school with a population of 1,200 students, some of them two years above him in their education!

In addition to school, Joshua is in a choir at a local church. When home, Joshua works hard to help his mother care for the crops on their small plot and carry vegetables to the market.

Since entering the sponsorship program, Joshua has grown from a child to a young man with integrity and incredible potential. Because of unexpected financial challenges, Joshua’s sponsor had to discontinue his sponsorship. He only has two years left of schooling. Ivan and Winnie

Ivan Ooga, CloseThe Kony insurgency brought horror to central Africa. Two precious children escaped Kony’s reach with their mother, and you have a chance to be a part of their future of hope.

Ivan and Winnie’s mother is originally from Kapchorwa, but she moved to Northern Uganda to make a home with her husband. When Kony’s insurgency reached Uganda, it killed Ivan and Winnie’s father.

Winnie Ayupo, Close

Their mother took them and fled on foot to seek refuge for her family in her childhood home.

Yet the refuge they found was not complete. Her parents had died, and living with her brother only brought abuse. So she moved her children again. She now works hard as a cleaner to provide for them on her own.

Ivan, Winnie, and their mother have overcome war and abuse. Now, they look toward their future, a future you can support. Ivan has one more year of primary school, and his sister is a year behind him, in Primary 6.
